No Fly Zones

Some places that prohibit the entry of aircrafts

TAJ MAHAL | INDIA

In 2006, the 7.4 km area around Taj Mahal was declared as a no fly zone to enhance the safety of the building.

This is also to protect the white marble stone which is made from yellowing due to pollution.

AREA 51 | USA

Restricted for all kinds of aircraft, Area 51 is used for testing new military technology. For example in the 1950s & '60s, the U-2 Spy Plane program was worked on at the base.

This empty desert boasts air space that is more restricted than that of the U.S capital.

NORTH KOREA

Many countries and also the UN avoid the Pyongyang airspace because of the unexpected way in which they test their missiles.

Missiles are launched from North Korean bay towards the sea of Japan often without any prior warning.

WALT DISNEY WORLD | USA

The theme park requires no aircraft to come within 3,000 feet in altitude for a radius of 3 miles. Disney didn't want noisy airplanes to fly above it, for not spooking its new residents.

The competitors, however, claim that the no-fly zones were instituted to prevent them from flying advertisements in the region.

EASTERN PORTION OF UKRAINE

This airspace considered extremely dangerous for flights to enter after a Malaysian plane MH-17 was shot down in 2014 killing all passengers aboard.

Furthermore, all flights between Russia and Ukraine are banned above the other's soil.

TIANANMEN SQUARE | CHINA

The airspace above Tiananmen Square in China is one of the most heavily guarded airspaces.

This area is so guarded that even Pigeons, drones, and balloons were once restricted above it.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE | LONDON, WINDSOR CASTLE | WINDSOR

To ensure the security of the Buckingham palace no fly zone was instituted in the region.

Another region in which planes are not allowed to fly over is Windsor Castle to safeguard the reigning monarch and the royal family.
